Vladimir Putin told Abramovich to pull Chelsea out of the Super League

Tuchel tells fans not to aim anger at players

Since Chelsea left at the Super League proposals last week anger has grown amongst the fanbase which came to a head in the form of protests from the fans.

With important matches still to play left in the season including Champions League matches against Real Madrid and the race to achieve a top 4 spot in the Premier League, coach Thomas Tuchel has pleaded for fans not to target their anger at the players but instead get behind them.

“We need all the support to be able to overcome this huge step in these two games,” the German said.

“So, put your anger to the decision, put your anger to the way the decision was presented, which is well understood by me and absolutely fine by me.

“But don’t put it on the team and never doubt the love that all the people here in Cobham and I’m sure all the other clubs, don’t doubt the love everyone has for this game.

“And you will see all the passion on the pitch tomorrow again.”

Chelsea supporters will be hoping the passion will certainly be present as the club targets it’s first Champions League final since they won the competition in 2012.

Abramovich told by Putin

Despite the Super League seemingly being dead in the water, news around the proposals is gradually seeping through the cracks in its collapse.

One of the more intriguing stories from this has been regarding Chelsea’s exit from the League.

It was reported last week that Roman Abramovich had been angered at not being fully informed before making the decision to agree in joining the SL in the first place.

However it now appears that the Russian president Vladimir Putin even had a say in the decision to withdraw the club.

German outlet SDZ claim that Putin contacted Abramovich to advise him that ‘it was not in Russia’s interest for Chelsea to join.’

It should be said that the UEFA Champions League sponsor is that of Russian energy corporation Gazprom. Could this have had anything to do with the decision?
