Premier League unveil 23-man shortlist for 2021 Hall of Fame

Arsenal & Man United stars included as Premier League unveil 23-man shortlist for 2021 Hall of Fame

The first batch of nominees for the Premier League Hall of Fame have, on Monday, been revealed.

Arsenal & Newcastle legends included

The story surrounding the introduction of a new platform, by which the finest players to have ever lined out in the Premier League can be honoured, has of course taken centre stage online on Monday.

This comes after the first two official inductees into the division’s Hall of Fame were confirmed.

The players in question? Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer:

It is of course hard to argue against the inclusion of either Henry or Shearer, with the former viewed by many as the greatest Premier League player of all-time, and Newcastle icon Shearer the top-scorer in the history of the division, by a distance.

Terry & Keane next up?

The two hitmen, though, will be far from the only players honoured with a spot in this year’s HOF bracket.

As confirmed by the Premier League this evening, six more will follow, from a list of 23 candidates.

The players nominated come from a whole host of clubs across the English top-flight landscape, with voting set to be open to fans until the 9th of May.

The shortlist, in full, is showcased below:
