Man City leaked 2021-22 away kit adopts Super league colour scheme

Guardiola condemns Super League

Manchester City were the first team to announce plans to leave proposals of the semi-closed competition with 11 other of the world’s elite sides known as the Super League.

Due to intense backlash from supporters, players and even coaches, the plan soon crumbled almost as quickly as it had been announced.

Pep Guardiola was one of the coaches who appeared to criticise the plans before the public address of the team’s intention to pull out of the proposal.

“If you ask me [why] these teams have been selected, I don’t know the reason why,” he said. “It is not a sport where the relation between the effort and the success, the effort and the reward, does not exist. It is not a sport where success is already guaranteed or it is not a sport when it doesn’t matter where you lose.

“That’s why I said many times, I want the best competition, the strongest competition possible, especially the Premier League. It is not fair when one team fight, fight, fight, arrive at the top and cannot qualify because success is already guaranteed just for a few teams.”

Several of Manchester City’s players reacted to the news when it was announced City would be indeed to taking part.

City leaked kit hints at Super league

Both the home and away kit for next season have been leaked online.

The home kit sports a darker shade of the typical light blue

However, it is the away kit which has caught the attention of many.

A reported homage to departing Sergio Aguero, the keen-eyed amongst many have spotted a strange similarity to the colour scheme of the now seemingly dead Super League branding.

The blue transitional scheme to violet colours are noticeably comparative to the Super League’s style.

Simply a coincidence? Or a well-informed commercial take? At this stage, anything is possible in the world of football.
