Blow for Arsenal as KSE reaffirm club not for sale amid Daniel Elk interest

Hammer blow for Arsenal fans as KSE reaffirm club not for sale amid Daniel Elk interest

Arsenal owners Kroenke Sports & Entertainment have confirmed that they remain 100% committed to the club, amid mounting calls for a sale.

Gunners up in arms

Arsenal were of course one of twelve heavyweight clubs widely criticised for their role in the planned implementation of the ‘European Super League’ last week.

The project, which collapsed within 48 hours of its launch being made public, would have seen six Premier League sides, along with three from Italy and Spain, depart the Champions League, to form their own ‘closed shop’ style competition.

The fallout on the back of the ESL’s dramatic failure, however, has not yet come to an end, a full week after the English clubs involved turned their backs on the initiative.

Instead, enraged fans have made use of the opportunity to target their respective clubs’ owners.

The Manchester United faithful of course flocked to Old Trafford as part of a ‘Glazer out’ protest over the weekend, with Chelsea’s supporters having also been central to the Super League’s collapse in the first place.

None, though, have been more vocal regarding their anger than those of an Arsenal persuasion.

The Gunners faithful have too been involved in heated protests in north London, with calls for owner Stan Kroenke to sell up and move on growing by the day.

‘Not selling any stake’

The concerted push on the part of the Arsenal faithful was then boosted over the weekend, after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that Spotify CEO and billionaire Daniel Elk is expressing a keen interest in the club.

As outlined above, however, on Tuesday evening, those who had allowed themselves to be swept up by the dream scenario of Arsenal being taken over by a long-time fan with genuine intentions, have been brought firmly back down to earth.

This comes after the Gunners’ owners reiterated that they have absolutely no intention of selling the club.

KSE, in an official statement, have assured that they remain ‘100% committed’ to their project at the Emirates, with a view towards ‘winning the biggest trophies in the game’:

‘In recent days we have noted media speculation regarding a potential takeover bid for Arsenal Football Club.’

‘We remain 100% committed to Arsenal and are not selling any stake in the Club. We have not received any offer and we will not entertain any offer.’

‘Our ambition for Arsenal remains to compete to win the biggest trophies in the game and our focus remains on improving our competitiveness on the pitch to achieve this.’

‘Stan Kroenke and Josh Kroenke.’
