Bukayo Saka continues to impress

Arsenal’s 2020/21, as a whole, has of course been pretty dire so far, with a Europa League triumph the only real avenue left for the club to salvage their campaign.

One of the few bright sparks for the Gunners, though, have been the performances of some of their academy stars.

Both Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have shone for Mikel Arteta’s side across the season to date.

It is Saka, though, who has established himself as almost un-droppable for the Gunners.

The starlet has scored five and assisted three in the Premier League, as well as bagging two goals and four assists in seven Europa League outings, with the 19-year-old’s second-leg display vs Slavia Prague having proven a particular highlight:

Saka’s superb form also earned him his England debut in October of last year, with the attacker having since been handed a further three appearances by Gareth Southgate.

And now, the youngster’s impressive exploits have, on Tuesday, been recognised in the form of an award.

The 2021 London Football Awards took place this evening, with Saka nominated for the Young Player of the Year alongside top talents such as Chelsea’s Mason Mount, West Ham’s Declan Rice and teammate Smith Rowe.

As revealed a short time ago, though, it was indeed Saka who took home the prize:
